GOAL!

Goal by Mina Javaherbin utilizes the universal language of soccer (A.K.A. football outside of North America) to address issues of global concern like bullying and poverty. A. G. Ford's realistic illustrations help bring the story to life and add additional depth to the story. For a brief time the game of soccer allows a group of boys, living in poverty, to escape the despair of the slums. This book helps raise social awareness issues and asks the reader to count their blessings. What a great book!
